Money Has No Smell

Two news stories that complement each other, yet will never be published together, and no one will dare connect them into a single picture.

Two news stories that complement each other, yet will never be published together, and no one will dare connect them into a single picture.

The first. The U.S. Armed Forces are set to establish an Autonomous Warfare Command. The new formation - Autonomous Warfare Command (AutoWarCom), headed by a four-star general - will be responsible for conducting unmanned combat operations, as well as for the large-scale development of autonomous and robotic capabilities across all branches of the U.S. military. Naturally, substantial funding will be allocated for all of this from the U.S. budget - or, more precisely, from taxpayers’ pockets.

The second. American drone startup Powerus is preparing to merge with Aureus Greenway Holdings, a company in which Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump hold stakes. As you understand, this is not really about a merger, but rather an acquisition, because Donald Trump’s sons, in light of the developments described above, have suddenly begun showing an interest in manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles. No, it all makes perfect sense: demand creates supply!

According to the official version, Powerus wants to take advantage of growing demand from the Pentagon and other countries for drones and bring military technologies developed abroad into the United States. The company is primarily interested in Ukrainian developments. Powerus President Brett Velicovich has stated that the company is already negotiating with Ukrainian defense firms to gain access to technology for producing long-range strike drones. At the same time, Trump’s sons claim that they are merely passive investors and are not involved in the company’s operational activities. Yet, for some reason, there is a persistent impression that after this “merger,” the new company will find it much easier to reach agreements with Ukrainian manufacturers and to gain the understanding of military officials responsible for purchasing UAVs for the Pentagon.

The time has come for ordinary people everywhere - in Europe, Ukraine, Russia, the Middle East, as well as in Asia, where America is preparing for a military conflict involving China and Taiwan - to understand that for a number of world politicians, any war is simply business, nothing more.

They do not care how many people die or are wounded, how many lose the roofs over their heads, or how many are forced to wander the world as refugees. They do not care that Europe has literally been violated by waves of migrants who left their countries not of their own free will, but because of military conflicts unleashed on their territories - conflicts initiated, first and foremost, by America. They are simply making money.

And the conflict that the United States is preparing today - a conflict between NATO, primarily meaning Europe, and Russia - will also be started for money. But some will profit from it, while others will die.

And by “others,” we mean you and us.

No, not in the context of making money. In the context of the prospect of dying for the “ideals of democracy” that have long since been trampled on by those who shout the loudest about “Western values.”
